SERA STONE
Arranger/Vocal Health Coach/Artist
About
Sera Stone, born as Hannah Graystone, has been involved with music from a very young age. Her routes stem from Classical Music where she was trained in both vocals and piano. However, now having achieved a 1st Class Honours Degree in BMus Popular Music Performance at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, Sera Stone is adept in a variety of genres including Classical, Pop, Soul, Rock and Musical Theatre.
She is greatly inspired by Eric Whitacre, Enya, Säje and London Grammar for their classically modern sound and loves artists such as Brandi Carlile for their emotional vocal technique.

Sera Stone enjoys a range of creative outlets including: Vocal Arranging, Backing Vocal session work, Media/Film composing, Vocal Health research, singing teaching and Art. If these are any of the services you require, she's happy to help!

Vocal Arranging
With a passion for everything vocal related Sera Stone enjoys vocal arranging. This is in the form of unique and tailored Backing Vocals or complete A Capella arrangements. This gives her a chance to work with a range of artists in many styles, giving a fresh take on their original songs or covers.

Here is Sera's A Cappella arrangement of Passenger's song 'The Way That I Love You'. Her vision for this arrangement was for it to be sung entirely by female singers from a large SSAA choir. Ideally it would be performed in a church or hall with four SSAA choir sections. Each section would be in a different corner with the audience positioned in the middle. With the addition of the natural reverb, this would create a surrounding, all-encompassing experience, giving a call and response effect characteristic of antiphonal music.
Backing Vocal Session Singer
Sera Stone loves the challenge of harmonising and complimenting a lead vocalist through well-blended backing vocals. She is most comfortable as a Mezzo-Soprano, but can adapt to any female vocal part needed due to her choral experience.

Media/Film Composer
Sera Stone is fascinated with the way film music can capture and enhance the emotional intentions on screen. She is greatly influenced by film composers John Williams and Howard Shore and loves the soundtracks of 'Pride and Prejudice' and 'Call Me By Your Name'.
The music written for the Mercede's Re-score evokes the joyful and playful quality of the advert, capturing the sweet relationship between a father and son. Playing on these emotions will make the Mercede's brand more memorable as it's connected to a personal story that other people can relate to.
Handmaid's Tale - Series 2 Episode 13 - Re-score
In the Handmaid's Tale Re-score above, Sera has captured the emotional intensity and intimacy by using strings. Their vibrato and dynamic energy closely resemble the human voice and build up to the emotional climax. Here she adds in Soprano Classical vocals to highlight the humanity displayed on scene and the painful choice the main character is having to make.
